Plastic 7" Single Record Adapter / Inserts - Six-Pack!
The Original OG 45' Adapters!
A 45 rpm adapter, also known as a record insert or spindle adapter, is a small plastic or metal device used to enable 45-rpm records to be played on a turntable. It can take the form of a small solid circle that attaches to the bottom of the spindle, allowing only one 45 to be played at a time, or a larger adapter that fits over the entire spindle, allowing multiple 45s to be stacked and played. The RCA Corporation introduced the snap-in plastic spider, invented by Thomas Hutchison and commissioned by RCA president David Sarnoff, in the 1960s as a way to make 45 rpm records compatible with the smaller spindle size of a 33⅓ rpm LP record player. Spiders sold tens of millions per year during this time. Limited quantities available.
