I'm the guy who bought Quarter Moon in a Ten cent town.

When I saw this album I got twitchy. I am a fan of ELH and of MOFI.

I also have an original copy of the same thing in vanilla 1978 consumer pressing. That one I have used as (forgive me) a test record using "one paper kid" on side two. I bought it new a Loonngg time ago. I know the music, and the sound.

I take care of my stuff. It still sounds amazing.

I was really impressed with Vinyl Pursuit. They cleaned the disc and put it in a very nice audiophile grade slip cover.
They also inserted an additional cardboard protective thing. Serious stuff. They also put a package of new slip covers in the package. They are exactly like the ones I bought from MOFI years ago. I was running out so thank you.

For fun I just spun it up. I am listening right now. Is it perfect? Actually not quite but close. The sound is excellent but there is a very slight residual dirt or something the cleaning did not catch, or was it residue? Every time I play it I give it a damp wipe and I think it is getting better each time play it. Hey this time round it sounds damn good!

I have been surprised how it sounds so much like my "old copy". Mofi did a good job. It is a respectful rendering.

For Audio Geeks my system is Audio Research SP14, Audio Research CL60, Audio Technica AT7V cartridge, Phase Linear 8000a series 2 linear tracking turntable. I built the speakers.

The only regret I have is that the store is so many hours drive away. If it were closer to me I would visit it too often.

Thanks and I will be back!
